Antigua and Barbuda is closing out 2025 on a high note following a significant influx of international flight arrivals at the V.C. Bird International Airport on December 27, 2025.

On this single day more than twelve international services arrived from key North American and European markets. These arrivals were in addition to regular regional services and private jet flights and demonstrate the strong demand for the destination during the peak holiday period and the operational capabilities of the airport.

International services operating into Antigua and Barbuda on that day included Virgin Atlantic, United Airlines, JetBlue, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, British Airways, Norse Atlantic, Air Canada, and Sunwing.

The Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation, and Investment, Hon. Charles “Max” Fernandez, stated, “Having this strong level of airlift into the V.C. Bird International Airport reinforces confidence in our tourism product by our partners, and Antigua and Barbuda’s appeal as a leading winter sun destination.”

The minister noted, “that the additional flights are driven by leisure travellers escaping to enjoy our warm weather and 365 beaches, diaspora returning to spend the holiday season with family and friends, as well as home-porting flights geared to cruise passengers”. He added, “We continue to invest in the V.C. Bird International Airport to support the growing demand, and to ensure the best experience for travellers.”

Antigua and Barbuda tourism stay-over arrivals data through November 2025 have shown stable growth.

Chief Executive Officer of The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Colin C. James, commented, “Increases in airlift capacity during high demand periods this year, as well as strong destination marketing and ideal weather conditions, have resulted in sustained air arrivals for 2025. Projections on December’s performance confirm that 2025 will be another year of growth for arrivals through the V.C. Bird International Airport.”

Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Officials are optimistic that this momentum and growth will carry into the New Year, with efforts already in place to further increase airlift, strengthen destination marketing and elevate visitor experiences.
