Cabinet has approved the construction of a modern, environmentally friendly vending facility at Little Ffryes Beach as part of ongoing efforts to regulate vending at major tourism sites.
The new facility will provide improved sanitation, waste management, utilities, and organized vending spaces designed to blend with the natural environment. Vendors will be engaged throughout the design process to ensure minimal disruption during construction.
Simultaneously, Cabinet ordered the removal of unauthorized vending structures from Morris Bay, Darkwood Beach, Fryers Beach, and Fort James. Utilities will be disconnected from unapproved operations, and affected vendors will be relocated to the upgraded Ffryes facility.
The initiative underscores the government’s push to support micro-enterprises while enhancing visitor experience and protecting the coastal environment.
