The Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC) has begun a two-week mission to strengthen risk management capabilities within Antigua and Barbuda’s Customs and Excise Division.
The mission—running from November 10–21, 2025—will assess the Division’s enforcement capacity, legal framework, use of the ASYCUDA risk engine, and operational workflows. CARTAC will also deliver a three-day training programme based on IMF and World Customs Organization best practices.
The findings will be presented to the Comptroller of Customs and Ministry of Finance before being submitted to Cabinet.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne welcomed CARTAC’s support, noting that similar missions will be extended to the Immigration and Treasury Departments.
