The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has approved a series of initiatives to preserve the historic pottery tradition of Seaview Farm.
The craft, maintained by master potter Hyacinth Hillhouse, is considered one of the Caribbean’s oldest surviving indigenous art forms.
Officials say the initiative will include training new artisans, operational support, and integration into the national tourism product. Cultural heritage preservation has become an increasingly important pillar of tourism strategies across the region.
The Ministry of Tourism will also collaborate with the pottery enterprise to produce authentic artifacts for official gifts, expanding economic opportunities for the community.
