The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) showcased the twin-island destination to UK travellers and travel industry professionals at the Destinations: Holiday and Travel Show held last week at Olympia London.
One of the UK’s largest consumer travel exhibitions, the four-day event attracted approximately 50,000 attendees from international markets, all seeking inspiration and expert guidance for upcoming holidays. ABTA used the platform to spotlight Antigua and Barbuda’s 2026 on-island calendar, including signature events such as Carnival, Art Week and Culinary Month, while also highlighting the destination’s diverse culinary and cultural offerings.
ABTA was joined on the stand by hotel partners Elite Island Resorts and Azingo Hospitality, giving prospective visitors insight into the wide range of accommodation options available across the islands, from boutique properties to larger-scale resorts.
Antiguan heritage chef Kareem Roberts represented Antigua and Barbuda on the Taste The World stage, where he promoted the destination’s upcoming Culinary Month and celebrated the flavours, ingredients and traditions that define Antiguan cuisine. During a live demonstration, Roberts prepared tamarind balls and was joined by British presenter and chef Andrew Dickens, who explored the cultural significance of the iconic treat. The interactive session drew strong audience engagement, followed by on-stand tastings of the sweet-and-sour delicacy. Roberts also showcased his recently released cookbook, Cassava and Cardamom.
“It is an incredible opportunity to share what Antigua and Barbuda has to offer through food,” said Roberts. “From our landscapes to our people, there is so much untapped potential, and we have only just begun to showcase the creativity, flavours and experiences that make our islands truly unique.”
Cherrie Osborne, Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority UK & Europe, said the event was a vital platform for promoting the destination’s heritage. “Our presence at leading consumer events is essential for showcasing Antigua and Barbuda’s culture and heritage. By highlighting signature offerings and key events like Culinary Month 2026, we can demonstrate what sets our twin islands apart. Talented ambassadors such as Kareem Roberts help bring our stories and traditions to life.”
The Destinations: Holiday and Travel Show left visitors inspired by the flavours, traditions and experiences of Antigua and Barbuda, ensuring the destination remains top of mind for UK travellers planning holidays in 2026 and beyond.
