Antigua and Barbuda today reiterated its support for a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East at the High-level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and Implementation of the Two-State Solution, convened at the United Nations.

Prime Minister the Honourable Gaston Browne welcomed the convening of the conference and underscored its value in reinvigorating international momentum toward a two-state solution.

“The people of Palestine have waited far too long for the dignity, peace, and security that self-determination affords. Antigua and Barbuda stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and joins the international community in calling for urgent, good-faith negotiations to realize two states, living side by side in peace,” Prime Minister Browne said.

The Prime Minister urged all parties to act with courage, restraint, and a spirit of compromise, noting that peace remains the only viable path forward. Antigua and Barbuda pledged continued support for multilateral efforts aimed at a negotiated settlement that upholds international law and ensures the rights and security of both Palestinians and Israelis.
