PM Browne Congratulates New St. Vincent Prime Minister, Pays Tribute to Dr. Ralph Gonsalves

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, the Hon. Gaston Browne, has extended formal congratulations to Dr. Godwin Friday on his election as Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, while also paying tribute to outgoing leader Dr. Ralph E. Gonsalves for his decades-long service.

Prime Minister Browne, writing from Morocco where he is attending an international conference, conveyed warm wishes to Dr. Friday in a letter dated November 28. He affirmed Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with St. Vincent and the Grenadines, particularly through the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Browne expressed confidence that both nations would continue to advance shared regional objectives under Dr. Friday’s leadership.

In a separate letter, Prime Minister Browne commended former Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves for his 24 years in office, noting his influential role in shaping Caribbean integration and public life. He highlighted Dr. Gonsalves’ enduring legacy and expressed gratitude for the friendship and guidance he has provided over the years.

Dr. Gonsalves, who remains a member of Parliament, received Browne’s best wishes as he transitions from the office of Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Browne reaffirmed Antigua and Barbuda’s dedication to maintaining strong bilateral relations with St. Vincent and the Grenadines and deepening regional collaboration for the benefit of both nations’ citizens.
