The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has announced significant gains in national water production, reaching 9.2 million gallons per day, with expectations of 10.6 million gallons by next week.
The increases are part of APUA’s aggressive modernization strategy.
APUA will introduce a real-time monitoring platform to detect leaks and system disruptions instantly, allowing for rapid response and reduced water loss.
1,000 Smart Meters will be installed with the aim to improve billing accuracy, deter tampering, and support APUA’s digital upgrades.
Only 80,000 cubic meters remain in the dredging process, expected to finish within four months. Completion is essential for the operation of the country’s new LNG plant, a key element of Antigua and Barbuda’s long-term energy strategy.
APUA reaffirmed its commitment to modern, sustainable, and reliable utilities.
