The highly anticipated third edition of Antigua and Barbuda Art Week returns from November 26 to December 2, 2025, showcasing over fifty of the nation’s most talented artists under the vibrant theme “Culture in Colour.” The annual event, organized by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Long Bay Brewing, promises a week-long celebration of creativity, heritage, and artistic expression across the twin-island nation.
The 2025 programme will highlight an impressive line-up of acclaimed visual artists, including Heather Doram, Mark Brown, Makŏ Williams, Emile Hill, Gilly Gobinet, Faye Edwards, Stephen Murphy, Dina Brozzi Goodenough, Carol Gordon-Goodwin, Jan Farara, Dylan Phillips, Nkoye Zifah, Kelly Hull, Glenroy Aaron, Candi Coates, Anfrenette Joseph, Gerron Farquharson, Marc Xavier, Sadiki Roberts, and Dominique Trotman, among others.
Joining them will be emerging talents from the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies – Fine Arts and Creative Studies Department, who will present an exhibition titled “Vernacular.” Finalists from the Art Week Student Art Competition will also have their work on display.
Visual artist Stephen Murphy encouraged residents and visitors to take part in the festivities, saying, “Come out and experience the incredible works of our local artists—each piece tells a story shaped by island life and imagination. Let the art inspire you.”
A special highlight of this year’s celebration will be the Barracks Studio Pop-Up Exhibition at Redcliffe Quay, dedicated to honouring the legacy of late Antiguan and Barbudan artists such as E.T. Henry, Frank Walters, Jill Walker, and Taylor Hikin. The exhibition will feature a retrospective of their work alongside pieces by contemporary artists, creating what Murphy describes as “a living dialogue between past and present—a journey through time showing where we come from and where we are going.”
Art Week activities will also extend to V.C. Bird International Airport, where the “Expressions of Art and Fashion”exhibition will spotlight top student artists, visual creators, and local fashion designers.
Art galleries and studios across the island — including The Quay Studio, Fig Tree Studio Art Gallery, Art House, Rotten Hill Studio, Gunpowder House Art Gallery, Jan Farara Art Gallery, Gilly Gobinet Art, Julees Restaurant’s Art and Culture Village, Makŏ Fine Arts, Zemi Art Gallery, Guava De Art, GoodHumans268, and the Antigua and Barbuda College’s Studio One and Studio Two — will also host exhibitions and open studio events throughout the week.
According to Maria Blackman, Art Week Lead and Marketing Communications Manager at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, “This year, we are not only celebrating the creativity that exists here at home but also building meaningful connections with artists outside of Antigua and Barbuda, creating new opportunities for growth and collaboration.”
The 2025 edition will feature participation from the Antigua and Barbuda diaspora and regional artists from Nevis. Among them are Kwame Delfish (Canada), Odessa Whitlock (USA), and Vaughn Anslyn (Nevis). Delfish will join a panel discussion titled “The Future of Caribbean Creativity,” while Whitlock and Anslyn will collaborate with Grandma Mirie for an interactive sip, paint, and culinary experience called “Shades and ChARTcuterie” at Julees Restaurant.
New additions to the festival include “Heart for Art” installations and public murals designed as interactive photo stops. Fashion designer Garrett Javan will also host a private showing of his latest collection, “ZOIGE.”
